Stories is a companion site for MaritimeHistoryOfTheGreatLakes.ca. Since 1998 I have been working with a variety of other folks to facilitate discovery of the history of the Great Lakes through a wide range of images, documents and clippings. Relatively little is said about the accuracy of the source. Sometimes things get reported incorrectly. Sometimes people, in paraphrasing their sources, spin the story in different directions. These are the raw materials of history. They require some thought.
I have, over the years had opportunities to both write history and tell stories. The purpose of this site is simply to have a place to share some of those that are too short for a book or a magazine article, but are still worth a bit of our time.
